=================================New musings===============
Linda F. Harris "lfh" had the other six children but not Sarah and only Leona Wallendorf Scarola at one time had a Sarah Kittrell of unknown line married to John Kittrell son of her uncle Jethro. It becomes likely that this John is the patriarch of the main Pitt County, North Carolina as a son of that John is a Jethro also who would thus have been given the name of his Kittrell grandfather.

*Sarah ---- being here as spouse is most likely as shown by the 1820 Pitt County, North Carolina census showing a Sary Kitterlin, over 46 years of age. The use of Kitterlin is observed for the first Jonathan and his son John's family and these only or so it seems.

To connect this Sarah ---- with the Sarah Kittrell who married a first or second cousin John Kittrell is a bit speculative but not totally unreasonable when you further connect that Sarah Kittrell to the Sarah named in the will of John Kittrell, widower of Jemima Standley, as one of his seven children.
Several of John Kittrell, Sr.'s near relatives would then have used the name Kitterlin as their spoken surname it seems including Sarah "Sary" Kitterlin (if she is the Sarah Kittrell who married John Kittrell) in Pitt County, North Carolina and Absalom in South Carolina, as well as John's father the patriarch Jonathan Kittrell whose name is recorded as Kitterlin or Kitterling.

Now let's pull for this to be right or for documentation for what is.
