SCARBROUGH William Ross Scarbrough, 85, died October 16, 2009 at Community Hospice, Jacksonville, FL. He was born June 15, 1924 in Connerton, PA and was raised in Baltimore, MD. He retired as a CMSgt from the U.S. Air Force after 30 years of service during WWII, Korea, the Cold War and two tours of duty in Vietnam, receiving the Bronze Star. He was an active member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, AL for 30 years serving as a Deacon and Elder. He was also a long time member of Good Morning Kiwanis Club, the St. Andrews Scottish Society as well as a volunteer at Maxwell AFB with the Retirees Affairs Office. He was now a member of First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville, FL. He leaves a wife of 53 years, May Wallace Scarbrough; two daughters, Diana Jester (Steve), Louisville, KY; Anne Trostel, Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, David Jester, Julia Trostel, Caroline Trostel; a great grandson, Aden Harper and a sister, Jean Caspariello (Tony), Baltimore, MD. Graveside funeral at Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors, Dr. Robert Morris officiating, will be on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be at the family home on Thursday, October 29th from 4 to 6 pm. Later a memorial service will be held in Memorial Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville, FL; Memorial Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, AL or to your favorite charity.
