*William who married a Tabitha and lived in Granville through 1850 fits here but it is just speculation and well worthy of the * which goes with such rank speculation. To show the lack of certainty it need only be noted that this William had previously been attached as a son of Dempsey Kittrell, but Dempsey Kittrell as noted by Mike Williams is a poorer candidate for the father due to his lack of Granville County attachments. There is the same amount of information on this man except for the name and the birth date which is a good match for 69 years old William of the 1850 census who might well have dropped the first name which was the one his father used. Still not clear is if the father was named John or John William.

There is no reason to think this is the right family other than Bertie County must adjoin Edgecombe, which was created from Bertie and Granville, where William is found was created from Edgecombe. Thus William would not have needed to move much to still be Dempsey's son.

As yet I have not found a father who was living in Granville to be a father for William so this will do at least until a better candidate can be found.

The lineage for Dempsey needs much documentation back to Jonathan and his childre and wife or wives remain mainly undocumented.

But for now this will do as a temporary domicile for William and descendants who clearly are Jonathan's descendants.
