Georgia May Kittrell (daughter of William Craven Kittrelland Annie Jane Stanley )434 was born 16 Jan 1912, and died 08 Nov 1945 in New Hope Cemetary, Washington Co., Florida. She married (1) Arnold Jackson . She married (2) G.W. Bailey .Notes for Georgia May Kittrell:Notes from Willa Jane Sausman:Aunt Georgia May met her tragic end at 33. Mary and George or GW Bailey were present at my Aunt Georgia May's death. As a matter of fact, they were 2nd cousins and Aunt Georgia May and Dub (GW) Bailey were living together at the time. Regarding the death, I (Willa) will include both stories. My Grandma (Annie Stanley Kittrell) and daddy (Willard Kittrell) said that GW poisoned Aunt Georgia May. Peggy Venable says that Aunt Georgia May was distraught over a former husband and committed suicide by drinking a beer laced with carbolic acid. What a way to go. A Mr. Loyce Register (wife: Merle) that I (Willa) took care of said (a former mailman and also present) told me (Willa) Aunt Georgia May never touched the beer before she took a swallow of it. I (Willa) can only imagine the horrible agony she must have gone through as that acid ate out her mouth, throat and stomach. A Sheriff Brock investigated it and apparently he was satisfied with the suicide story. I (Willa) might add that Mr. Register said that he, another women, GW, Ruby, and Aunt Georgia May had all partied the night or two before, got drunk, got put in jail for disorderly conduct and a day or two later Aunt Georgia May was dead.Ida Gilley said she always heard Georgia May was poisoned. Mr. Register said the carbolic acid was put into the beer.Article from Washington County News (11/15/1945)-Funeral Services were held Sunday, November 11 for Georgia Neal Bailey who died at her home in Vernon, Thursday, November 8th, 1945.
