Fred Montonye died at his home in Pana, Illinois, after a brief illness of pneumonia. He was born Dec. 15, 1886, a son of Richard and Lydia E. Weger [Montonye]. He married Ethel Montonye Feb. 2, 1907. He is survived by his wife and a sister, Wilma.
The remains were removed from the Hess Funeral parlors to the Montonye home on South Spruce Street Wednesday afternoon and at noon Thursday will be taken to the Masonic Temple. Funeral services will be held at the Pana Masonic Temple at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Boyd, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be made in the Windsor cemetery with the Waddington Funeral Service of Tuscola in charge.
Mr. Montonye had been in the employ of the Big Four since 1906 and came to Pana a number of years ago to take over the third trick operator post at the Big Four tower here. About eighteen months ago, he was transferred to Nokomis, being advanced to agent. However, he and his wife remained residents of Pana.
His father, Richard Montonye, was a brother to Ann Montoney (Mrs. James) Carpenter and Joseph Thomas Montonye who were children of Mary Jane Young and Daniel S. Montonye.
