Dulcina, Dulcena, Dolcean Ringo or Ringold. Dulcena was probably named for Dulcena Hanks Ringo, the wife of Lewis "Wash" Ringo's half-brother, Lewis Ringo.
The only "Cain" we have found in the 1900 Census, that can possibly be Dulcena, has wrong year of birth (1851), and her place of birth, her father and mother's, are suspect (AR=Arkansas). We have not has yet found an 1860 Census for her father, Lewis Washington Ringo; he may have gone to Arkansas! We do believe that the following "Sinai Cain" is Dulcena. We know she had a daughter, Ava. That was the extent of our information. In the 1900 Census, there is a son listed, Wash Cain. Did she name her son (Lewis) Washington "Wash" Cain after her father; we think she did.
1900 U.S. Census, Windsor Twp.
171 175 Cain, Sinai, Head, f, born 1851, m., b. AR, father b. AR, mother b. AR, farmer
; Ava, Dau., f, born 1888, s., b. IL, father b. IL, mother b. AR, school
; Wash, Son, m. born 1891, s., b. IL, father b. IL, mother b. AR, school
Dulcena stated in the 1900 Census that she was married. Where was James Cain; was he working elsewhere, and didn't get counted in the 1900 Census?
