"The funeral of Jacob Snider, who passed away last Thursday at his home at Kalona was held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home, conducted by Elder T.M. Walton, pastor of the Christian church of Keota. Burial was in the Keota cemetery. The family were former residents of this community, living on the Kreikenbaum farm north of town, and will be remembered by many old friends and neighbors. Mr. Snider was 85 years of age, and was a charter member of the Keota Christian church. The family moved to Kalona in 1913. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, two sons and two brothers and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jacob Snider was the oldest son of Jeremiah Snider and Fanny Minor Snider . He was born in Monongalia County, West Virginia February 11, 1844 and died at his home in Kalona, Iowa March 28, 1929 age 85 years, 8 months and 17 days. He came to Iowa with his parents in 1845.
He was united in marriage with Serena Josephine Thompson March 8, 1868, living 61 years together, most of this time being spent in the Keota community where he was a charter member of the Christian church of Keota. H e moved to Kalona, Iowa February 6, 1913.
To this union were born six children, two of whom proceeded him in death. He leaves to morn his death his wife and four children. M. Roscoe of Wellman, Mrs. Edwin E. Smith of Muscatine and Mae and Roy of Kalona. Two brothers survive him. Mr. Warren Snider and DeForrest of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He also leaves 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the home in Kalona Saturday at 1 o'clock conducted by Rev. T.M. Walton, pastor of the Christian church at Keota. Burial was in the Keota cemetery.
Those who attended the funeral from out of town were Dr. and Mrs. F.D. Miller, Mr and Mrs. A.J. Rogers, Mrs. ?, Lloyd Bull, Clifford Snider and family from Wellman. Mr and Mrs Cy Berka of Washington and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Morehouse of Mt. Pleasant.
