Werd ingeschreven op 30-10-1900 op de Brouwersvaart 50 te Haarlem, daarna ging hij omdat hij ziek was naar het Stads en Armenziekenhuis en vertrok vandaar uit naar het RK Wees en Armenhuis waar hij loopknecht was. Op 11-10-1905 ging hij wonen op de Tulpstraat 30 (beneden) waarna hij op 22-02-1906 zich verstigde op de Klarenbeekstraat 58 (rood) en vandaar op 17-06-1908 naar Amsterdam vertrok.
Hij is voor de krijgsraad geweest voor brandstichting:Krijgsraad Noord-Holland 110/12, vonnis 7 jaar tuchthuis.
Utitreksel van het vonnis van de krijgsraad:
Overwegende dat de beklaagden hebben erkend dat zij, in bezetting liggende te Medemblik, indenavond van den dertiende December van het jaar 1800 vijfenvijftig, na met elkaar daartoe afspraak te hebben gemaakt, op het bovenvertrek in het Slaapkwartier van het corps, op 't welk zij gehuisvest waren, de stoozaakken van hun nachtleger hebben opengescheurd, en het stroo daaruit op den grond en onder hunne nachtlegers hebben uitgeschud. Dat de beklaagden hunne hoofdkussens inswgelijk hebben geopend en het stroo daaruit, benevens de door hen aan stukken gescheurde dekens, hebben nedergeworpen met het van te voren beraamde ontwerp om, met behulp daarvan, brand te verwekken.
Overwegende dat verder is erkend en voldoende gebleken, dat de beklaagde Scheffer een lapje, met behulp ener brandende tabakspijp heeft aangestoken en alzoo vonkende in het stroo heeft gelegd; - dat de beklaagde Langerhorst dit vuur heeft aangeblazen tot dat het lapje heeft vlam gevat, en daardoor het op den grond liggende stroo in brand en in vlam is geraakt.
Overwegende dat echter onmiddelijk daarop enige der aldaar aanwezige personen zijn toegeschoten, en het vlammend stroo, met water daarop te gieten hebben uitgebluscht,- dat beklaagde Langerhorst daarbij heeft gepoogd de vlugt te nemen, maar is gegrepen en dat beide de beklaagden daarop in verzekerde bewaring zijn gesteld.
