Marinus born six weeks after his parents arrived from Holland. (Henrietta Wichers) Heard that he was really really nice. Once lived on Boeskoel farm near Dentonia-across road from brother of John Koops farm. They also lived west of Hwy 181 8 mi. N. of Downs, KS. (John Koops). They married young to save the Van Roosendale farm after Barant's death. In 1901 Rene traded the Rosendale farm for the North Place which was a much better farm. (Grace Wichers Broersma)

Funeral Set For M. Wicher, 90
Marinus Wicher, 90, 901 West Grover Lynden, passed away Tuesday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace Broersma. Mr. Wichers had been in failing health for several months.
Funeral services will be held in the Second Christian Reformed Church Saturday at 2 oclock with Rev. John De Jong officiating. Concluding services and internment will follow in the Monumenta Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.
Born November 24, 1871, in Patterson, New Jersey, he had farmed near Downs, Kansas, prior to moving to Lynden in 1938. It was in Jewel County, Kansas, that he was united in marriage to Annie Roosendaal, August 18, 1891. She preceded him in death January 1, 1953.
Upon moving to Lynden, Mr. Wichers had been employed for several years as janitor in the Grover Street Christian School. He was also preceeded in death by four sons and one daughter.
Mr. Wichers was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Lynden.
Surviving are three sons, Henry J., of Centralia, Ben of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Hessel of Lynden; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Visser and Mrs. Grace Broersma, both of Lynden, and Mrs. Henrietta Thaete of Wenatchee. One sister, Mrs. Grace Borger, Downs, Kansas, survives. Also 60 grandchildren, 136 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews survive.
