Biography
Abraham Strickler[1][2]was born in 1693 in Germany.[3]

c 1724 Immigrated to Pennsylvania.

IN VIRGINIA
Circa 1729,[4]Abram Strickler in conjunction with 7 others (i.e., Adam Mueller, Mathias Selzer, Philip Lang (Long), Paul Lung (Long), Michael Rinehart, Hans Rood, Michael Kaufman), purchased 5000 acres in the Shenandoah Valley from Jacob Stover. However, there was a competing warrant for land in this area, and in 1733, Abram et al. petitioned the Governor of Virginia to resolve the dispute in their favor. (see Wayland's Thesis for in-depth description & source documents[5]). On 12 Dec 1733, the Virginia Colonial Council (aka Board) found in favor of Stover's land grant, and the subsequent subdivision of it to Abram Strickler et al.[6]
1733 Fall, Probable move date to Virginia. Property Taxes in Pennsylvania paid by Half Brother.
Subsequent to the decision by the Virginia Colonial Council on 12 Dec 1733,[6]Abraham Strickler finalized the purchase of 1000 acres of land along the Shenandoah River, in what is now Page County, Virginia.[7]
Abraham Strickler died in 1746 and he was buried in the Jacob Strickler Cemetery, Luray, Page County, Virginia.[8]
