Bio: [The following sketch in written in context of the religious heritage involved. Friends (aka Quakers) write dates only in numerical form, occasionally including the common name of the month only for reference (e.g., the "29d 10mo called October 2015".) Prior to Jan. 1, 1752, England and its American colonies used the Julian calendar, in which March was the 1st and February the 12th month of the year. In Jan. 1752 England and its American colonies converted to the modern Gregorian calendar, in which January is the first month of the year.]
