Bio: The daughter of WILLIAM & HELEN (VICKARIS) HOPKINS, she married JOHN WAKEMAN on Jan. 28, 1628 in Bewdley, England.
Birth date cames from the Millennium File on England - Ancestry.com.

Robert P. Wakeman in his book, "Wakeman genealogy, 1630-1899 : being a history of the descendants of Samuel Wakeman, of Hartford, Conn., and of John Wakeman,....", p. 66-67, claims that the two stones that were standing at the rear of the Center Church of New Haven were those of Mrs. John Wakeman. The first stone was inscribed "E. W. 1658" is 2 feet X 2 feet and 9 inches thick of a blue dark stone (thought to be a head stone) and the second smaller stone was inscribed "E. W. 1657/8" (thought to be the foot stone). Elizabeth Wakeman was assigned a seat at the Center Church in Feb., 1656, but is not mentioned in the next seat assignment. John Wakeman's will was executed in 1660 and he does not mention a wife. Therefore, Elizabeth Wakeman probably died between 1656 and 1660, making it possible for these stones to be her stones.

NOTE: Although these stones were there in 1900, there is no evidence that they exist today.
