At the age of 7, Mary Freebourne left England for America with her parents, William Ffrebourne, age 40 and wife Mary (no maiden name) Freebourne, age 33, and sister Sarah age 2. (Her father, William, had sold the family home (Batisford Manor, at Witham (now the Hamlet of Newland), Essex, England in Dec 1633). They sailed on the ship 'Francis' leaving Ipwich, Suffolk, England on 30 April 1634 and arrived at Boston a short time later (probably in May) in the same year. {From the book, The Planters of the Commonwealth, by Charles Edward Banks, 1967 p.122. The family settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts for a short time before being disarmed and banished for being followers of Rev Wheelright and Mrs Hutchinson. They moved with that congregation to establish Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island.
On March 6 1664 Mary Weaver exchanged 20 acres of land, in Portsmouth, with her brother Gideon Freeborn. Her father William Freeborn had given her the property to "use of herself and children"; signed by Mary Weaver, Clement Weaver, Sr., Clement Weaver, Jr., William Weaver and John Weaver
Mary died sometime after that March 6, 1664, exchange.
Her parents and sister perished within 2 weeks of each other in the Spring of 1670. Possibly they suscumbed to a local "epidemic". Sarah died April 23, 1670. Her father William Freeborn died 5 days later, on April 28, 1670. Her mother Mary Freeborn died 6 days after her husband, on May 3, 1670. "
