ISAAC ALTSON, jeweller, 98 Nicholson-street, Fitzroy, reports stolen from his dwelling, between the 16th and 19th inst., a gold bar brooch, set with a straw-coloured diamond in centre ; and a pair of lady's black kid gloves. ..."</p>
Descriptions:-1st. About 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, medium build, dark complexion, dark moustache only, about a fortnight's growth of beard. 2nd. About 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, thin build, fair complexion, fair moustache only; wore faded clothes and a black boxer hat. - O.5483. 3rd July, 1897.

Deserters of Wives and Children
Minnie White is charged, on warrant, with abandoning a female child under 2 years of age, with Sarah Ann Baron, 47 Victoria-street, Fitzroy, at Fitzroy, on the 6th February last. Description: - Victorian, 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, slender build, dark complexion, dark hair, frizzy in front, very much freckled, very white teeth. Is known as Caroline Bray. - O.5655. 13th July, 1897.
