Michael Werner (Hunter Lists #806)
Anna Gertraud Werner, d/o [daughter of] Michael of Rheinfels on the Rhine, md. Christian Haber of Salzberg in the commune Homburg in Hesten-Castel 21 Dec 1711 (West Camp Lutheran Churchbook). The area near Rheinfels did not produce any record of the emigrant, however, not too far away at 5408 Nassau it was noted that a Michael Werner, a grenadier of the Compagnie under Hauptmann Sabalsky (?) sp. there 30 Nov 1697; it has not been established if this soldier was the N.Y. settler (HJ). Mighel Werner, his wife, and (daughter) Anna Geertruyt, were in the 2nd party of Palatines in Holland in 1709 (Rotterdam Lists). Michael Werner aged 50, his wife, and a daughter aged 14, Luth[erans]., husbandman and vinedresser, were noted in the 2nd arrivals in England later that year (London Lists).
Michael Werner first was registered on the Hunter Subsistence Lists 4 Aug 1710 with 3 persons over 10 years of age. The family was recorded with 2 persons over 10 on 24 June 1711, 3 persons over 10 on 29 September 1711, and 2 persons over 10 years of age on 24 June 1712. Michael Werner and Catharina were at Hunderston ca 1716/17 (Simmendinger Register). Michel Werner was a Palatine debtor in 1718, 1719 (at Hunterstown), and 1721 (Livingston debt Lists). Werner, father (?) of Christian Hover, d.May 1747, aged 100 years. (Germantown Reformed Churchbook)."
