Theresa Visbeek Marona McKelleb??Whitinsville Theresa (Wiersma) Visbeek Marona McKelleb, 106, formerly of Chestnut St., Whitinsville, went home to her Lord Tuesday March 18, 2008. She was the wife of the late Fayne McKelleb who died in 1997. She was also predeceased by her second husband Rev. Herber Marona who died in 1987. Her first husband, George Visbeek, died in 1967.?She was born in the Friesland, Netherlands and came to this country in 1916 and was the daughter of the late Job and Tillie Wiersma.?A resident of Whitinsville for many years, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Westborough State Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1967. She had also worked at the former Whitin Machine Works, area cotton mills, and Beaumont Nursing Home. In 1936, she organized the Christian School Circle and taught knitting and sewing there for 20 years. She was a member of Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church where she was a member of the churchs Dorcus Society for 20 years. ?After the death of her first husband, she became active in missionary work in Rehobeth, New Mexico and throughout the Southwest, where she met her second husband, Rev. Marona, a retired Baptist Minister, and continued their missionary work together with the Navajo Indians. She also enjoyed knitting and seamstress work for her missionary projects. ?Her primary purpose in life was to serve the Lord and be a witness to him.?She is survived by two daughter-in-laws Tillie (DeYoung) Visbeek of Whitinsville and Betty Visbeek Haldemann of Chinook, MT; 9 grandchildren including George Visbeek, John Visbeek, Carol Roy, Rebecca Vroon, James Visbeek, Todd Visbeek, Terri Schuler, Nomi Visbeek, and Myron Visbeek; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. ?She was predeceased by 3 sons Minna G. Visbeek, Job J. Visbeek, and Jack Visbeek; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.?Funeral services will be Tues. March 25, 2008 at 11 AM in Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church, 305 Goldthwaite Rd., Whitinsville, MA 01588. Visiting hours will be Mon., March 24, 2008 from 4-7 PM in BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Northbridge.?Memorial donations may be made to the Whitinsville Christian School, 279 Linwood Ave., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
