* She was daughter of William Brown, of Rusper, County Sussex, England, who came to America in 1641 (or 1645, the authority for each date being about equal) with several members of his family, inoluding his daughter Phebe, who was then the wife of Thomas Lee. Mr. Lee died of small-pox on the passage. "Old Mr. Brown," as he was called in later years, died at the house of his daughter, Mrs. Marvin, at Hempsted, Long Island, about 1650. Following is a record of a part of his children and grandchildren, so far as we have been able to obtain them:
1 John, the eldest son, died on the passage to America.
2 Phebe, b. ----; d. Dec. 22, 1664, at Northampton, Mass., in child-bed, undelivered; m. 1st in England Thomas Lee, who d. in 1641 or 1645, on the passage to America; m. 2d Greenfield Larrabee, of Norwich, Conn. He d. about 1660 or 1661; m. 3d Mr. James Cornish, of Saybrook, Conn., 1662. Children before she m. Mr. James Cornish:
1 Phebe Lee, 6. in England; m. about 1659 John Large, and lived on Long Island, N.Y.
2 Jane Lee, b. in England; m. 1st Samuel Hyde, June, 1650; m. 2d John Birchard.
3 Thomas Lee, b. in England; m. 1st Sarah Kirtland; m. 2d Mary DeWolf.
4 Greenfield Larrabee, Jr., b. April 20, 1648; d. Feb. 3, 1739; m. Alice Park, March, 1762.
5 John Larrabee, 6. Feb. 23, 1650. No further record.
6 Elisabeth Larrabee, 6. Jan. 23, 1653; m. 1st Joshua Hempsted; m. 2d John Edgecombe, Sr.
