CLARENCE GRIEVE DIES IN 65TH YEAR The death occurred at Alexandra Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 4th, of a well known and very highly esteemed resident of Ingersoll in the person of Clarence Grieve. Though in ill health the past few weeks he had only been seriously ill since yesterday and news of his passing came as a distinct shock not only to his immediate family but also to a host of friends throughout the community. Mr. Grieve, who was in his 65th year, was born at Pond Mills, Ontario and came with his parents to Ingersoll 60 years ago. He received his education at the Ingersoll Public School and Collegiate Institute and for the last several years had been in the feed business with his father in the firm of James S. Grieve & Son. He was a member of St. Paul`s Presbyterian Church and of the Board of Managers; a member and past master of King Hiram Lodge No. 37, A.F.& A.M., Harris Chapter No. 41, R.A.M. and a member of the Officers`Mess of the Oxford fusiliers. His quiet and unassuming manner had won for him many friends in all walks of life. Left to mourn the passing of a dearly loved husband and father are his wife, the former Gladys Bowman; one daughter, Ruth, at home; two sons, James of London and Robert of Dawson Creek, B.C. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James S. Grieve, one sister, Grace, on the teaching staff of the Tillsonburg High School, and three Grandchildren. Friends will be received at the McBeath Funeral Home, Thames Street South, where service will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, October 7th, at 4 o`clock with Rev. Douglas Gordon of St. Paul`s Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will take place in the Ingersoll rural Cemetery
