Teryl Andersen Bodily
01/09/1951 - 11/22/2018
Teryl Andersen Bodily, 67, passed away, peacefully, at her home in South Jordan, Utah, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2018, following an eight-year battle with Alzheimer's. Born 9 January 1951 in Logan, Utah, to Kay Brown and Donna Jean Guymon Andersen, she was the oldest of four children. Raised in Wellsville, Utah, she was a 1969 graduate of Sky View High School. While attending Utah State University, she met and married Gordon Brent Bodily on 3 June 1971 in the Logan Temple. She was foremost a wife and mother but also spent nearly 40 years as a daycare provider to children of school teachers who became dear friends. Like most members of the Church, she served in various callings, most notably as president of the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society. She also served as a counselor several times in each of those organizations. She was well-loved and respected by those who knew and served with her. Teryl is survived by her husband, their two sons and four daughters: Kevin (Jill), Sun City, AZ; Jill (Brett) Johnson, South Jordan, UT; John (Brittany), McKinney, TX; Karen (Greg) Gunnell, South Jordan, UT; Jennifer (Doug) Jenson, Sandy, UT; and Kami, Murray, UT. Each was her favorite child. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; her siblings: Sherri (Lindsey) Preece, Kyle (Kristin) Andersen, Melece (Vern) Williams; and her husband's siblings: Garn (LaRae), Burke (Mary), Barry (Mary), Meridee (Stuart) Hatch and Rozanne (Kim) Braegger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Mervin John and Laree Alder Bodily, and a sister-in-law, Lois (Garn) Bodily. No obituary or funeral can ever fully capture the measure of one's influence on the lives of others. Teryl was an extraordinary daughter of God, a wonderful example of love and forgiveness, truly valiant in every aspect of her life. She will be dearly missed.
