· Liked his tobacco, he liked to read, didn't mind working hard but he really liked relaxation after work, didn't want his wife to interrupt his relaxation time after work, he really relished it. He wished one of his sons could have taken over the mill but one had become a merchant in that same area, (the other two sons besides Perry were working in Akron so I am saying that he was referring to Perry who had opened the garage in 1918), also one his son's wives had died. At the end of his life he felt as if his life had been good, he didn't regret anything. When asked about the mill storm damage he said "you don't question God's hand in things", the storm was not covered by insurance because it had been an "act of God." He was kind of a philospher, he loved thinking and pondering and reading and thinking about what he read.
