SEMI-WEEKLY INTERIOR JOURNAL, STANFORD, KENTUCKY
Tuesday, November 1, 1898
I desire to thank our Doctor, our neighbors and friends, who gave their ready sympathy and help during the illnes of my wife and daughter. Their kindness shall always be held in grateful rememberance by myself and my daughters. J.W. Eubanks.
THE INTERIOR JOURNAL, STANFORD, KY
Tuesday, May 22, 1906
Mr. J. Wesley Eubanks, 83, died at his home near Hubble Saturday morning of a complication of troubles. He is survived by his wife and seven children. He was a splendid old gentleman, a devout member of the Baptist church and one of the very best citizens in the county. Deceased had been in poor health for a long time but he bore his suffering with remarkable fortitude and patiently awaited the end. He had lived a righteous, godly life and death held no fears for him. The remains were brought here yesterday morning and after a few appropriate words by Rev. R.B. Mahony they were laid to rest in Buffalo Cemetery. Truly a good man has gone to his reward; let the splendid example he set in his long sojourn on earth be emulated.

There passed from life Friday evening May 18, one of the best beloved men of this county - Mr. John Wesley Eubanks. He had been ailing for nearly a year and had been confined to his bed since February - a gentle, patient sufferer. In all his intense suffering he was never known to murmur or complain, but was often heard saying how anxious he was to go to his heavenly home but would wait patiently "until the Lord should call," "Well done thou good and faithful servant; come up here." Brother Eubanks was born near Waynesburg on March 6, 1823, and died May 18, 1906. In 1843 he was married to Miss Lucinda Floyd, of this county, and moved to Pulaski county, to the little town of Eubanks, from whom the place derived its name. Later he moved to his beautiful country home near Stanford, where he had since lived.
He united with the Baptist church the same year in which he married, he and his wife joining at the same time, and had since lived a devoted member of that faith. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Stanford. He leaves seven children to mourn his death - Mrs. Alex Carman, Messrs. Milford and Geo. Eubanks, Mrs. John Colson, Miss Sallie Eubanks, Mrs. Park Buckley, of Washington, O., and Dr. W.C. Eubanks, of Paducah, and a large number of grand children. The funeral occured Monday morning at 11 o'clock with the following pall bearers acting: Messrs. Thomas Newland, M.D. Elmore, Garland Singleton, Cicero Reynolds, J.A. Hammond, J.E. Bruce, Sydney Dunbar and Sam McKittrick.
Tuesday, June 12, 1906
In the county court yesterday the will of J.W. Eubanks was probated. Property was divided among the children. Messrs. Milford, Geo. and Cicero Eubanks are named as executors of Mr. Eubanks' estate.

A big crowd attended the sale of the effects of J.W. Eubanks, near Hubble, yesterday. The farm of 82 1/2 acres was bought by William Sloan at $63.05. Horses brought $90 to $140, cows $36 to $40, wheat 75c. Other things sold at good prices.
