Per his diary on date Feb. 15, 1864: Uncle John died in University Hospital, Power Street, West End after having stones taken from his bladder. Uncle John was married about 6 years before at Northfleet Church on a Monday morning.John's wife was very deaf at the wedding and had to be told when to answer the preacher's questions. He wore a lock of his wife's hair near his heart for 24 years since she first gave it to him so the marriage date may have been more than 6 years before. Note: This may be John Warner who was 74 years old in 1862 and lived at 34 Bridge St., Greenwich, Kent. He was seriously ill in March 19, 1862 with violent pains in his legs and loin and in danger of falling when he stands up.
Conducted his own boy's school called "Erith Education Home" for young men intended for the Merchant Marine or preparing for the training ship "Worcester" stationed off Erith. He spoke and taught several languages and had his own system of shorthand. He gave concerts in London in voice, piano and violin. After problems with fire and scarlet fever epidemic he became editor of "The Ironmonger" located at 44 Cannon Street, London.
He invested with J. Dunstan of Greenwich in the Dunstan self-acting breech loading needle gun which was presented to the Horse Guards by request of the Royal Highness, the Duke of Cambridge, Commander-In-Chief.
