She came to Missouri in the early 60's. They settled near Osceola. She spent the remainder of her life in Missouri. She united with the Baptist Church early in life. In 1871 she was united in marriage with Albert Shield. To this union was born two children, a son and a daughter, the daughter died in infancy. On March 10, 1880, she was married to Sam Laine of Osceola. To this union were born six children, five girls and a boy. Two daughters have preceded their mother to the Great Beyond. She made her home with her youngest son during the last years of her life although she spent much of her time visiting with her other children. She passed away at her home near Warsaw, December 11, 1929, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 13 days. She leaves five children: John Shields of Collins, Mrs. Lucy Homan of Sedalia, Mrs. Alta Cooper of Warsaw, Mrs. Ethel Neal of Kansas City and Sammie Laine of Warsaw. She leaves 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. A Granddaughter.

LAVINA McKIBBEN
Lavina McKibben, daughter of Andrew & Mary McKibben was born in Alleghany County, Pennsylvania, September 28, 1853. She came to Missouri in the early 60's. They settled near Osceola.
