Bellevue, Hastings, Nebraska 68901---- Gerald (Jerry) Granger Gerald Willaim Granger, 73, of 1220 West 13th, Hastings, died Wednesday, August 10th, 1994 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Grand Island. Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 13th, 1994 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 9th and West Lawn, in Hastings. Rev. Jim Miller will officiate. There will be no visitation. Mr. Granger's body was donated to the State Anatomical Board for research. Brand-Wilson funeral home in Hastings is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Granger was born August 27, 1920 in Norman to George Bernard and Arminta Willey Granger. He married Genevieve Hall on February 10, 1948 in Hastings, Ne. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings, the American Legion Club in Minden, and was the present Commandant of the Marine Corp League in Hastings. Mr. Granger served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from May 12, 1941 to October 29, 1945. He served actively in Vangunu, New Georgia Islands, Guam and Guadal Canal. Jerry started as an announcer in radio in 1946, also served as sports director at KHAS radio. In 1955, he was hired as TV sports announcer with KHOL-TV at Holdredge until 1963. He then went to Hastings KHAS-TV as an account executive. He retired in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Genevieve; one daughter, Sherril Calabro of Omaha, Ne.; and four sons, Gary of Minden, Ne., Tom of Salem, Ore., Lonnie of Minden, Ne., and Troy of Omaha, Ne.; 11 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
