Eastcote, within the parish of Ruislip, appeared as a hamlet by 1323, while 1565 maps indicate a scattering of houses and farms along both sides of the R Pinn, the junction of Field End Road and Eastcote Road, being the geographical centre. To the south lay open fields, until their gradual enclosure under the 1804 Act. Even today the setting is rural and C16 and C17 timbered-framed buildings are interspersed among modern residential developments. In 1507 the Walleston family owned a cottage "Hopkyttes" at Well Green, Eastcote, having acquired the lease from the family of John Amery (d.1494). The lease passed to Ralph Hawtrey (fourth son of Thomas Hawtrey of Chequers, Bucks) in c1525 through his marriage to Winifred Walleston, the property becoming his main residence known as Eastcote House. http://www.londonopenhouse.org/
