WILLIAM BARHAM, the elder son of DAVID BARHAM SENIOR, succeeded to his father’s freehold land in Wadhurst and Ticehurst.
1658 - John Moore of Wartling, clerk, William Moore of Robertsbridge in Salehurst, gent., and WILLIAM BARHAM of Wadhurst, gent., had sold the premises to William Weeks of Ninfield, yeo., and his grandchild, Elizabeth Rowe, dau. of Richard Rowe of Crowhurst, yeo. John Fuller of Battle, gent., bought the premises in 1687 from Richard Sampson, mercer, of Pevensey; he had bought it from Robert Rowe of Bexhill, yeo., cousin and heir of Elizabeth Rowe, dec'd., in 1682 10 Mar 1682 - Marriage settlement (covenant to stand seised) - ref.
