Notities over Paulina PEPYS

Paulina Pepys was baptised at Cottenham in Cambridgeshire on 17 September 1581. She was the daughter of John Pepys and his wife, Edith. Her mother died when she was two years old, her father when she was eight.

Paulina did not marry until she was thirty seven years old, making a good match with Sidney Montagu son of Edward Montagu and his wife, Elizabeth. Within a few years they had a daughter, Elizabeth, and a son, Henry. Paulina was again pregnant in 1825 when Henry fell in the moat and was drowned. They called the new baby Edward. Sidney bought Hinchingbrooke House for £3000 and moved his family there.

Paulina died in 1638.
