[survived] his father. He m. Jane, dau. to Sir Rob't Holland [Ref: Molyneux History, p. 10] William Molyneux Knt.; m. Jane Holland. [Ref: Molyneux History, p. 31] Sir William Molyneux of Sefton Knt. m. Jane dau. Sir Robert Holland [Ref: Molyneux, p. 33] Sir William Molyneux, the eldest son, greatly distinguished himself in the wars in France and Spain under the Black Prince, and was made a Knight Banneret in 1367, after the Battle of Navarret. He died at Canterbury on his return home in 1372, and was there buried, the following epitaph being inscribed on his tomb:-- "Miles honorificus Molyneux subjacet intus: Tertius Edwardus dilexit hunc ut amicus. Fortis qui gessit, Gallos, Navarrosq, repressit, Hinc cum recessit, morte feriente decessit, Anno milleno trecento septuageno, Atque bis junge duo, sic perit omnis homo." By his wife Joane, daughter and heir of Sir Robert Holland, Knt., Sir William Molyneux had an only son, Sir Richard Molyneux... [Ref: Molineux Memoir, p. 5]
