Complete Peerage, 11 (1949): 303, footnotes e and f indicate that Sir Richard Beauchamp (died 1508), 6th Lord Saint Amand, left an illegitimate son, Anthony Saint Amand, by a mistress, Marty Wroughton. Under the terms of Sir Richard Beauchamp's will, he devised the bulk of his estates, failing heirs of his body, to his illegitimate son,
Anthony Saint Amand.
Not surprising, on Sir Richard Beauchamp's death, Chancery suits were filed by several of his legitimate heirs, they being representatives of the Brooke, Griffin, Osbaldeston, and Reade families (see abstracts of these lawsuits further below). Curiously, none of these lawsuits are mentioned by Complete Peerage.
Regardless, it appears that at least two manors of Sir Richard Beauchamp ended up in the hands of his illegitimate son, Anthony Saint Amand, namely Ramerick, Hertfordshire and Blunham, Bedfordshire, as indicated by the grant below found in the helpful online A2A Catalogue (http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/index.asp).
