Three children born, two living and one deceased. 1928 Newspaper Obituary: OLD EMPLOYEE A leading shunter employed at the LMS Chaddesden Sidings was knocked down by a wagon while at work early on Sunday and received injuries from which he died this morning shortly after midnight. The victim of the accident was Harry DENNIS, aged 59, who lived at 19 Nottingham Road, Derby. He had been employed on the railway for 34 years. The deceased was acting foreman on Sunday mornin, and was engaged in shunting operations with a number of other men. The accident occurred at about 5 AM. Mr Dennis had his left arm badly crushed and received other injuries. His workmates rendered first aid, and the injured man was taken to the Infirmary, but he died at 12.15 PM to-day. Mr Dennis had been employed by the old Midland and L.M.S Railway between 33 and 34 years, the whole of the time having been spent on Chaddesden sidings. He was a well-known member of the N.U.R. He leaves a widow and two daughters.
