Date of Will 29 Nov. 1636 Proved 21 March 1650 and adm. to Thos. Mallet executor
Whereas I heretofore by good conveyance conveyed that little estate I have of lands etc. in Black Torrington, Sutcombe and East Verworthy co. Devon unto my late brother Malachy Mallet and his issue male with some remainders, for the more assuring of same I do devise the same and all my lands in England to my nephew Thomas Mallet serjeant at law, being son and heir of my said late brother to hold to him and his issue male with the same remainders.
To my nephew and godson Richard Ferrars £100.
To my niece and goddaughter Elianor Halfe £10.
My old servant Wm. Thornton, John Thornton and Thos. T. my servant.
Residue to my nephew Thos. Malet, sole executor.
To poor of Pointington 40s.
Codicil. 25 Sept. 1644. To my servant James Norman 95.

Arthur Malet, in "Notices of an English Branch of the Malet Family", says that he was "of Poyntington", as does one of the two transcripts on hand, but there is no mention of that property in the will, though he does convey those properties that are mentioned to his brother Malachi and nephew Thomas, which is consistent with "Notices".
