He m Rose ---, who has not been identified . d prob. Dartmouth after 15 May 1702 and prob. bef May 1708.
On 5 Mar 1667/8 Nathaniel was charged and again on 3 June 1668 summoned to Plymouth Colony General Court for telling "a pnisous" lie for which he was fined ten shillings. Nathaniel of Duxbury and George of Dartmouth filed complaint 5 July 1671 against Giles Slocum for unlawful entry on their lands in Dartmouth in 1669. The brothers, now of Dartmouth, with others filed claims 7 July 1685 for damages on land acquired [by their father, Pilgrim George,] from Indians 29 Nov 1652.
Nathaniel Soule died intestate and his widow, Rose , made bond as executrix 12 Oct 1699, with an inventory reported as of that day appraising the personal property at 197:16:00. On 10 Oct 1700 the Probate Court caused "a just and equal division of the estate both goods and chattle left by Nath'll Soule late of Dartmouth deceased". This division included the widow's third which gave her" all the moveables", "Nathaniel Soul the eldest son as his dubble portion", and equal shares to Silvanus, Jacob and Miles, though minors perhaps over 14 years. This division was dated 15 May 1702 and approved 10 Sep 1702. No guardian assignments and no distribution of the real estate that the will of George Soule snr. and the above cited court actions imply have been found. There is no record of the distribution of widow Rose Soule's undoubtedly substantial real estate. In the main land transaction of 1708, son Miles is not a contracting party, yet there is belief that he did not die until 1720.
On 4 May 1708 Nathaniel, Sylvanus and Jacob Soule (sic) sons of Nathaniel Soul late of Dartmouth, William and Nathan Soul sons of George Soul late of Dartmouth and Joseph Davil son-in-law of said George Soule being common proprietors....sold land "given us by our grandfather George Soul" late of Duxbury. No explanation is given in this deed as to how they were "given" this property when their grandfather died 1680 before some of them were born or why Mary Devol is the only granddaughter involved.
Mary, Susannah and Sarah Soule are placed as his daughters from the calculated birth date of Mary, and the fact that Mary and Sarah, daughters of George, are positively identified , while John Soule's daughters are well known and in Plymouth County, and neither John nor George had a daughter named Susannah.
