Notes for Virginia Florida Hutton:
Virginia Hutton was born Wednesday, January 3, 1917 in Dade County, Florida to Ernest Leonard and Ethel Maude Lucky Hutton. She was their second daughter. She joined a brother, Warren Leonard and a sister, Thelma Lucile. She grew up in Redland, in South Dade County, with her parents, brother and three sisters. In 1935 she married her sweetheart, Alton Enice, nicknamed Tony, Register. They began their married life in Miami and were blessed with three children, Diane, Kirby and Bonnie. They lived in Miami for a few years and then the family moved to North Florida to a farm for a few years. That area had no electricity for two years so Virginia had to cook on a wood stove, use a well with a hand pump, wash clothes with a tub and wash board, she had an ice box for a refrigerator, took baths in a fiftyfive gallon drum, Tony had to plow with a horse drawn plow. But, finally they got their electricity and things were easier. The family then moved back to Miami about 1953 for several years and raised their children there. Then Tony and Virginia moved back to North Florida in 1966 where they purchased a farm in Suwannee County, built a home and chicken houses. They raised chickens for Gold Kist until their health forced them to sell their farm and then Tony built Virginia her dream house down the road from their old farm. Tony went to Heaven on November 23, 1996. Virginia went to live first with daughter Diane and her husband Art and then permanently with her daughter, Bonnie and her husband, Jerry in Newberry, Florida. She spent her last day on this earth with Wayne and myself. She sat in my chair and I sat on the floor by her and we talked and laughed the day away. We talked about family, went through pictures and she told me who they were. We had a wonderful day and that night we all went out to the Suwannee River Cove to eat and to meet Bonnie's friends who were taking her to their house
to spend the night. I fixed her plate for her and we all had a good time. She went to Heaven during the night on February 7, 2004. She was laid to rest by her husband Tony in the Live Oak Cemetery, Live Oak, Florida USA. Virginia Hutton Register was a true Christian woman who loved her God, her Christian Science Church (she and sister Thelma founded the one in Live Oak) and her family. I am Joan Roberts Register and she was my Aunt Ginny.
