1692, Feb. 12. Kings Town. He deeded 170 acres in Kings Town to sister Abigail Fish, wife of Daniel Fish, of Portsmouth, declaring that his father Thomas Mumford, deceased without having made any will, leaving him heir at law.
1693, Oct. 24. He and wife Abigail sold Samson Battey, of Jamestown, 300 acres in Pettacomscott for £42.

1707, May 28. His wife having been murdered about two weeks since by a slave belonging to him, and the body of the negro having since been found upon the shore of Little Compton, (he having drowned himself as was believed to prevent being taken alive), it was ordered by Assembly that his
head, legs and arms, be cut from his body and hung up in some public place near Newport, and his body to be burnt to ashes, that it may be "something of a terror to others from perpetrating of the like barbarity for the future."
1708, Oct. 22. He deeded son George, 180 acres in Point Judith Neck, being part of my farm which belongeth to my dwelling house.
1708, Nov. 13. He deeded son Thomas certain land already in son's possession, and by him leased out, viz : my former dwelling house lot of 56 acres and buildings, and pasture lot of 200 acres.
1726, Jan. 2. Will—proved 1726, Apr. 11. Exx. wife Esther. To sons Thomas, George, Joseph, Benjamin and Richard, 5s. each, and son George to have a negro girl named Morocco. To daughters Sarah, Tabitha and Esther Mumford, each a feather bed. To son John my new house, being my now
dwelling house, with 5 acres, and other land. To son William, rest of homestead farm with house thereon, in which William lives, he keeping for my wife Esther a riding beast, two cows and twenty sheep. To wife Esther, rest of movables, and negro slaves, male and female, and at wife's decease, two negro slaves Tobey and Peg, to go to son John; and negro girl Catharine, to go to daughter Sarah Mumford.
Inventory, £634, 14s. 7d., viz : books £1, 4s., warming pan, gun, pair of stillyards, linen wheel, feather beds, pewter, bond £200, silver weighing 15½ oz., negroes, Tobey £50, Peg £75, Catharine £40, 3 cows, heifer, 2 mares, 2 young horses, colt, 18 sheep, 2 hogs, &c.
He and his first wife were buried in the Mumford Burial Ground.
