Coenraad Met(d)z was born in the German Kingdom of Hessel-Kassel and his father worked for the Royal Household of this Kingdom. The Metz Family and Coenraad moved to the Netherlands as part of the Royal Household of Princess Marie Louise von Hessen-Kassel (1688-1765) as she married (1706) to Prince Willem Friso of Orange Nassau (1687-1711).
Coenraad Metz becomes Master of the Royal Hunt for His Highness Prince Willem Friso at the Royal Estate "Soestdijk".
On June 13th, 1753, Coenraad is chosen as "Schepen" (Alderman) of the village of Soestdijk.
He was married to the daughter of the Royal Page, Melchior Menkman, from the Palace "'the Loo" near Apeldoorn in 1729.
Coenraad died suddenly (maybe an accident or heart attack) in 1757. He taught his son Arnoldus the skills as Master of the Hunt, and after his death Arnoldus became the Royal Hunting Master of Prince William IV of Orange-Nassau.
