Case Ter Maaten - Ontario, passed away peacefully January 26, 2008 at 88 years of age at Inland Christian Home.
Born March 27, 1919 in Inwood, Iowa, he was a local resident for 15 years. Prior to that, he was a Dairyman in Mira Loma for over 50 years. Mr. Ter Maaten had a strong belief in the Lord and love for his family. Music was a large part of his life. He was a strong supporter of Christian education and served on the Ontario Christian School board for many years. He was a charter member of the First United Reformed Church in Chino.
The last survivor of 14 siblings, Mr. Ter Maaten was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Cleone (Grasman); son Steve Ter Maaten, and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his children, Anna Marie Van Vliet (Jake), Ken Ter Maaten (Bernice), Jeanie Van Vliet (Arend), Roger Ter Maaten; and Debbie Ter Maaten Mouw. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave., Ontario. Services will be Thursday, January 31 at 11 a.m. at First United Reformed Church, 6159 Riverside Dr., Chino, CA 91710. Memorial contributions may be made to Inland Christian Home, 1950 S. Mountain Ave., Ontario 91762. Draper Mortuary entrusted with arrangements.
