Zooals op nevenstaande illustratien te zien is, zijn deze kwekerijen eenig van de zeer weinige, waar kweekerij en natuurschoon vereenigd is. ZuIks kan niet anders bevorderlijk zijn aan het bedrijf: het inspireert de firma om zich in vereeniging met hare uitgebreide connecties steeds het nieuwste en het beste op 't gebied van planten en bloembollen te verzekeren.
Als de natuur nog dor is staan de, Narcissen, Irissen, Darwin- en Meibloeiende tulpen, en alle mogelijke zeer vroeg in 't voorjaar bloeiende gewassen, reeds in volle fleur.
Aanbeveling verdient het dan ook, dat, evena1s in het buitenland, ook in ons land deze bloemen meer worden aangewend ter versiering van de particuliere tuinen en openbare parken. Zij vervroegen als 't ware het voorjaar. De firma ZEESTRATEN levert deze gewassen in groote verscheidenheid tegen billijke prijzen. Zoo kweekt zij ook vele gewassen, welke zeer laat in den herfst bloeien, waarvan men zou zeggen, dat zij als 't ware den winter bevechten; ook in winterharde planten, zoals Delphinium, Irissen, Ploxen, Trollius, Paeonias, enz. worden hier de mooist en beste soorten gekweekt, terwijl op het gebied van de Gladiolus of Zomer-Orohide met buitengewoon mooie varieteiten, deze firma met zekerheid kan zeggen de eerste te zijn.
Dit bedrijf, zeer klein begonnen, kan thans als een van de belangrijkste kweekerijen uit de bloemencentra beschouwd worden. Over de gehele wereld heeft de firma haar afnemers, zoowel groothandel als particulieren liefhebbers van bloemen.

As can be seen from the accompanying illustration this Nursery is one of the very few in which the cultivation of plants and natural beauty are united. Such a condition cannot fail to be of advantage to the industry as it inspires the firm to secure, in conjunction with their numerous connections, the very newest and best in plants and bulbs. Whilst nature still lies dead and barren, the Narcissi, Ireses, Darwin and the early flowering Tulips as well as every possible variety of early spring flowers, are already in full bloom.
It is, therefore, very desirable that these flowers should be more used in this country to adorn private gardens and the public parks, as is the case in foreign countries, and thus, as it were, anticipate the spring. Messrs. ZEESTRATEN supply all varieties of such flowers at reasonable prices. They also make a specialty of late autum flowering plants, as well as the finest and best varieties of winter plant, such as Delphinia, Ires, etc. etc. whilst as far as the Gladiolus or Summer-Orchide with its exceptionally beautiful varieties, are concerned, this firm certainly take the lead.
This business, begun in a very small way, may now be considered as one of the most important nurseries in the flower-growing district. Their customers are found all over the world and consist not only of whole dealers but also private individuals and lovers of flowers
