  Als deze Ulrich Frutiger is geboren in 1650, kan hij onmogelijk de schenker van het glas-in-loodraam in Hilterfingen uit 1640 zijn.

  De inscheping van Zwitserse vluchtelingen had plaats in 1711. Vanuit Bazel vertrok o.a. een schip genaamd "Thuner schip" met als opzichter o.a. Hans Mayer. Hij staat vermeld op de inschepingslijst als: Hans Mayer, een snijder, van Sigriswijl,oud 41 jaar, zijn vrouw Dorothea Fruttiger, 34 jaar,-2 zoons en 2 dochters tussen 7 en 1 jaar. Op dit zelfde schip zien we: Ulrich Fruttiger, 68 jaar met zijn vrouw en een dochter van 36 jaar (haar vader, moeder en een zuster). Dit schip komt aan teAmsterdam en Hans Mayer met zijn gezin vertrekt naar Groningen. Hier zien we hem rond 1720 terug als diaken van een afgescheiden groep mennonisten.
  
  Mogelijk is hij een zoon of kleinzoon van Ulrich Frütiger uit Oberhofen, die in 1640, samen met Hans Bur, een glas-in-loodraam schonk aan de kerk, waarschijnlijk die van Hilterfingen. Het toont de bruiloft in Kana. Dit venster wordt nu bewaard in het Historisch Museum in Bern. Op Familysearch wordt een zekere Hans Ulrich Frutiger genoemd, geboren op 7 mei 1592 in Oberhofen. Hij zou de schenker van het raam kunnen zijn. Hij was getrouwd met Anna Acher.
  
  You are viewing the photo of a stained glass window, donated in 1640 to the church in Hilterfingen, Switzerland by Hans Baur and Ulrich Frutiger. The church in Hilterfingen also served the town of nearby Oberhofen where Hans lived. In its main, middle part, the window represents the Marriage of Canaan, and in its upper part the Massacre of the Innocents at Bethlehem. The artist obviously made a mistake, as far as the texts are concerned, because they refer to the worship of the Wise Men of theEast. At the foot of the window, the donors are mentioned: "Ulrich Frütiger der Zytt Stift Schaffner und Hanns Bur beid zu Oberhoffen. Anno 1640." In the lower corners are the armorial bearings of the two donors.
  
  Hans Baur was great-uncle of Hans Bauer, who immigrated to Pennsylvania from Oberhofen, Switzerland in 1711. Ulrich Frutiger was administrator of the possessions of the former monastery and of the ecclesiastical properties. The photo was probably taken in 1951 and cuts off a little of the top of the window. This medieval artifact is now kept at the Historical Museum in Bern.
  
  In the Thün ship were overseers— Michael Reusser, Hans Meier;—also passengers—Hans Meier, tailor, of Sigriswyl, forty-one years old, his wife, Dorothy Frutiger, thirty-four years of age, two sons and two daughters, from seven to six years of age respectively; also Ulrich Frutiger, husbandman, sixty-eight years old, Deformed (?), his wife and one daughter of thirty-six years, who are Baptists; also Hans Frutiger, farmer, of Sigriswyl, forty-four years of age, his wife Maria Konig, forty-seven years of age, three sons and one daughter, of thirteen years to six years respectively.
