Saint Rusticus (ca 455 25 April 501) was the Archbishop of Lyon, since the year of 494, the successor of Saint Lupicinus of Lyon (491 494). Later canonized, his Feast Day is 25 April. He was the son of Aquilinus (ca 430 ca 470), Nobleman at Lyon schoolfellow and friend of Sidonius Apollinaris(ca 400), who was a Vicarius of a Province in Gaul under the father of Sidonius Apollinaris between 423 and 448, and wife Tullia (b. 410), and the great-grandson of Decimus Rusticus and wife Artemia, and also of Saint Eucherius and wife Gallia.
He was also the brother of St. Viventiolus.
Married before 480 to a daughter (born ca 460) of Ruricius, Bishop of Limoges (then Augustoritum) and wife Ommance, they were the parents of three children:

De heilige Rusticus (455 Lyon, 25 april 501) was een Frans aartsbisschop. Rusticus was de zoon van de Lyonnese edelman Aquilinus en een achterkleinzoon van de H. Eucherius, aartsbisschop van Lyon, de vader van de H. Sacerdos en Leontius en de grootvader van de H. Nicetius, allen later aartsbisschop van Lyon. Hij was aartsbisschop van Lyon van 494 tot zijn dood in 501. Zijn feestdag is op 25 april.
Hij is getrouwd met Hiberie de Limoges.
