Notities over Cornelis Aertz Middach

{geni:about_me} Cornelis Aertz MIDDACH, born about 1598 in Lang Middelcoop (Hei-en Boeicop), Holland. Cornelis' birth year and place is based on a letter dated 12 Dec 1997 received from Mr. N. K. Middag. Cornelis died about 1640 in Heicop, Holland.

Cornelis married Jenneke EVERTS. It is believed they had at least two and possibly three children. Mrs. Collins data (previously referred to) also indicates Cornelis married Jenneke but she indicates her name was Jenneke Evert MICHIELSDAUGHTER. She also furnished information stating that Cornelis died about 1668 in Middlekoop and that Jenneke died before 1643. According to Mrs. Collins, one of Cornelis' and Jenneke's children was a daughter named Barbara Cornelisse MIDDACH who was born 7 September 1624 in Leerdam. She further reports that Barbara died before December 1673. While provable linkages have not been established, the early records of the Dutch Church at Heicop appear to contain records of marriages and baptisms of descendants of Cornelis and Jenneke. The records which have been found thus far are:

1. The marriage of a Garrit Corneliss MIDDAG, j.m. (one of the supposed children) and Jannetjen ROELEN j.d on 26 Jan 1668/9.

2. The marriage of Anthonij Corneliss MIDDAG on 3 May 1668/9. The name of his spouse is illegible.

3. The baptism of two children (Cornolis, Dec 1708 and Jacobje, 10 Feb 1709/10) of Gerrit and Jannetjen.

4. The burial of Gerrit MIDDAG in the churchyard of the church at Heicop

5. The burial of Antoni Cornelisse MIDDAG on 11/13/1708 in Heicop.

6. The marriage of Lambert CLAUSS and Swantje Cornelis MIDDAG on 5/7/1693.

In addition to the above documentary evidence, there is an 11 generation Dutch genealogy of the DeJONG(E) family that, while it doesn’t cite any sources, indicates similar dates for the birth, marriage and death of a number of theMIDDAGs listed above. The source of this genealogy is unknown but it does quote gravestone inscription and gives the locations of the stones.
