*Zoon van Abraham Baud (-1850), kolonel, en Louise le Brun. Tweemaal gehuwd, in eerste huwelijk met Wilhelmina Henriëtte Senn van Basel (1798-1831). Volgde een schoolopleiding in Den Haag, Anholt (Duitsland) en Den Bosch. Volgde aanvankelijk de artillerieschool te Breda, maar koos voor een carrière bij de marine. Werd in 1805 gevangen genomen door de Engelsen. Werkte van 1811-1821 als ambtenaar in
Indië, en daarna in Nederland. Werd in 1850 lid van de Tweede Kamer.

*Baud son of Abraham (-1850), Colonel, and Louise Le Brun. Twice married, first marriage with Wilhelmina Henriette Senn of Basel (1798-1831). Educated in The Hague, Anholt (Germany) and Den Bosch. Studied with theartillery school at Breda, but chose a career in the Navy. In 1805 wascaptured by the English. Worked from 1811-1821 as an official in Indiaand then in the Netherlands. In 1850 a member of the House of Parliament in The Netherlands.

*Jean Chrétien baron Baud (1789 - 1859) was Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies from 1833 until 1836.

*He was born in The Hague on 23 October 1789. He was a civil servant and politician who served under William I and William II of the Netherlands. He sped through the ranks of the civil service until he reached thepost of Vice President of the Council for the Dutch East Indies. Following Johannes van den Bosch, as acting Governor-General and, later, Minister for the Colonies, he was a strong defender of the Dutch Colonial policy, the cultuurstelsel, which required a certain amount of profitable crops to be dedicated to export.

*He was succeed in 1836 by Dominique Jacques de Eerens. He became Minister of the Marine in 1840 and Minister for the Colonies from that year until 1848. After 1848 he was for a few years a conservative member forRotterdam of the House of Representatives. He died in The Hague on 27 June 1859.
