Worth Centre, May 31--On Saturday last, May 25, the Angel of Death again entered the home of Charles Houghtaling and removed from suffering and pain his beloved wife, who has been a great sufferer for the past eight months. Mrs. Houghtaling was a kind woman and ever ready to lend a helping hand whenever any of her neighbors were in sickness and in trouble. During her last illness her Christian faith was demonstrated even when she was suffering the most. When she called her husband and children to her bedside and bade them good-bye, she told them not to mourn, she was going home to Jesus, where there would be no more suffering and pain. She was a kind and affectionate wife and a loving mother. Mrs. Houghtaling was 58 years and 25 days of age. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, an aged mother and seven children, four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Owens Lowery, of Mannsville; Mrs. Robert Ray, of Whitesville; Mrs. Merton Shepard and Mrs. Lewis Shepard, of Rodman; and Alton Houghtaling, of Belleville; Fred and Byron, who reside at home. We as neighbors and friends extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family. Her funeral was held Tuesday at the church. Her casket was covered with flowers and she was taken to Rodman and laid to rest. Her former pastor, Rev. W. E. Windsor, of Dugway, officiated.
