William Duane Sankey was born to David and Jennie (Van Eck) Sankey of rural Chandler on November 30, 1928. He grew up, attended country school, and lived his entire life in the Chandler area.
Bill served with the United States Army in Korea during 1954 and 1955.
He was a lifetime member of the Christian Reformed Church of Chandler where he served as deacon and elder.
On January 21, 1967 he was united in marriage to Christa Jacob of Winona, Minnesota.
Bill passed away on July 20, 1999 at the age of seventy years, seven months and twenty days. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Christa, son Mark withhis wife Rebecca and their two daughters, Kjersten, 2 yrs and Lauren, 5 days. He is also remembered with much love by his special daughter Anne.
He is survived by three brothers; David Sankey, Harris (Geri) Sankey of Chandler, and Harvey (Sandra) Sankey of Lake Benton, and five sisters; Wilhelmina Aardema of Norwalk, California, Cornelia (Doc) Aardema of Wendell, Idaho, Johanna (Anthony) Kooiman of Lakewood, California, Dorothy Nelson of Tulare, California and Lavina (James) Kemp of Bath, Maine. Also surviving and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Charles Aardema and Wayne Nelson.
