Married (1) 1784 in Bergen op Zoom (code: JJG). No marriage-certificate is found. Most probably they did (want to) marry because 10-08-1784 a copy of the birth- certificate of Marijtje was granted. A few months after the dead of his father, Pieter Louis shipped in on 26-11-1788 in Amsterdam and arrived 28-01-1789 back in Paramaribo. Marijtje Verbree went with their son Pieter Louis to her mother in Epe. No legal divorce is known. Pieter Louis never married (again). Marijtje married 17-03-1793 in Epe Egbert Nieuwenhuis, who originated from Deventer. From this marriage six children, two daugthers and four sons. Johanna was a so-called "redeemed mulatto" (a mulatto is a child of a white (man) and a negro). In Suriname was a lack of white women. Relationships between whites and redeemed mulattos or negros were common practice. Children from these "affairs" usually grew up in the family of the mother. Relationships between whites and slaves were officially prohibited, but occurred frequently.

According the marriage-certificate of 03-10-1811, it was not known if his father and grandfather were still alive or whereabout they could be found ("hebbende de Bruidegom geen acten van consent of eerbied kunnen produceeren alzoo desselfs Vader weg is en men niet weet of dezelve levend of dood is, voorts, [dat] deszelfs grootouders van vaders kant benevens deszelfs woonplaats onbekend zijn". Money-lender andt trader in estates. Bought in 1842 for F 2.400,- a farm of 5 hectare named "De Dood" (also known as "Het Pijkeringsgoed"), which was situated outside Epe, at the road Epe-Vaassen. Bought also a sheepfold. After the dead of Aartje BOSCH, this farm and sheepfold went by division of property to son Gerrit. Pieter Louis farm and -yard in Epe itself went according his testament of 15-12-1864 to his son Johannes, who had to buy out the joint heir(ess)(s).
