Gerald Vander Vate, 85, life-time resident of Everett, WA passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior on September 4.
Gerald was born on July 28, 1936 to Neal and Jeanette Vander Vate. He graduated from Everett High in 1954. He worked many years in the electrical trade before attending and working at Everett Community College.
He enjoyed God's creation whether camping, visiting the ocean, or working in his yard and reveling in his flowers. He loved to ride his bicycle, and later his scooter. He was also an avid walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris (Honcoop) Vander Vate, children Candace (Gary) Voelkers, Nelson (Karen) Vander Vate, and Ryle (Kellie) Vander Vate, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Joyce Vander Vate and Margaret Hamilton.
Public graveside service Tuesday, September 28th 11am, at Tahoma National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Everett Gospel Mission or Talking Bibles.
