Possible Father
Kind(er):
It seems well within the realm of possiblity that Goert could have been the descendant of one Jan Rosa who was the secretary of Holland, Zeeland and the western part of Friesland between 1428-1447. His "Memorialen Rosa" is often quoted as a source of genealogical data for certain families who lived in these provinces while Rosa was secretary there. Unfortunately these appear to contain no information on his own family and little has been learned about Jan Rosa himself. It has been determined that he did have at least one daughter, Rosina. [Thanks to Wim Selders]
Rosina Rosa married Cornelis Cornelisse Hasard(t). Originally the family was called 'du Hasart', a well known name of French refugees. However, Cornelis adopted the name of his wife's family.
