(GEORGE KROES WAUTOMA - George Kroes, 87, passed away at his residence on Wednesday evening, November 5, 2008. He was born on March 31, 1921 in Racine the son of Henry and Everdina (nee: Clauson) Kroes. He married Lillian Konicek on October 27, 1945 at St John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Racine. George was a milkman for 23 years at Progressive Dairy in Racine. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Wautoma. They enjoyed many years of traveling together, especially their trip to Holland. George was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma where he was involved in many activities. He lived a full life dedicated to his Christian faith. George was also a charter member of the 3rd Degree Sacred Heart Council #6228 and 4th Degree Chain of Lakes Assembly #1862 Knights of Columbus and the Wautoma City Council, where he served for 12 years. George loved his garden and also enjoyed keeping busy especially helping others. George was a man who took great pride in all he did, especially in his later years when he was a crossing guard. George is survived by his wife, Lillian Kroes of Wautoma; his brothers and sisters, Henry (Phyllis) Kroes and Ted (Mary) Kroes both of Racine; Nettie (the late Jim) Doyle of Las Vegas, Nev., and his twin sister, Georgia Rapaelian of Racine, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Mary, John, Bill, Dorothy, Minnie, Sister Mary Corona and an infant brother, Arnold. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. George Kroes will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma with Rev. Robert Stegmann officiating. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund are appreciated.)
