John was in hiding during WWII and then served with the Dutch Army in Indonesia - leaving a deep imprint on him. He met the love of his life and they were married in July 1954. In August they immigrated to Canada to build a new life together.
John's trade was as a baker and decorator. He had a love for reading, woodworking, drawing, gardening, nature and music. He treasured long country walks and drives together. He was devoted to his Faith and Family.
