We are saddened to announce the death of "Lies" Visser-Sluys at the age of 96, but rejoice that she is finally home with her Lord. Born in Holland, she worked as a social worker before she married Hendrik Visser in 1953, immigrated to Canada in 1958 with her family of six, and settled in Red Deer. In her younger years, she was very active in her church and the local Christian school. Lies loved music, reading, and played her last Scrabble game a week before her death; she was social, bright and always a lady even on her last day. Elizabeth is predeceased by her beloved son, Arjen, and her husband, Henk, and leaves behind her daughter, Ellen (Brian), three step children, Betty (Richard), John (Dena), and Henk (Cobi), and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
