SUARES - Departed this life, in this city on the evening of January 1, 1891, Mrs. Harriet O. Suares (middle initial s/b C.), wife of B. C. Suares, in the 73d year of her age.
Her anticipation of Heaven were strong and her hope of future felicity was abiding as an anchor to her soul. She never wavered in her confidence in God. In affliction she was patient and bore her suffering with singular fortitude. May her virtue long linger in my mind to sanctify me and so soften my nature that, like her, I may weep with those that weep and rejoice with those that rejoice. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth for they shall cease from their labors and their works do follow them.
She did not dread the gloomy tomb,
For like the scented rose
She well knew her life will fa'rer bloom,
And richer sweets disclose;
And rainbow hues adorn her future sky,
O death, and make it paradise for her to die.
